From Educators to Entrepreneurs
My Expertise Has Been Featured In Schools & The Media
I didn’t set out to become an
entrepreneur; my circumstances
made the decision for me.
And that’s exactly what I did, blossoming into a bona fide, “I said what I said” educator ally and advocate. Through Black Girls Teach®, I created a safe space for Black women educators and leaders to learn, grow, and collaborate, ultimately helping them navigate systemic barriers to reclaim their expertise and leverage their voices.
Eventually, I expanded my reach, transitioning into coaching entrepreneurs, educators, and education-adjacent professionals on how to turn their expertise into paid offers that actually sell. Translation: I help my clients create income that aligns with their expertise and build structures that support their lives.
I’m the always-unapologetic girl who hopped between seven different schools, advancing through three roles over 15 years. I loved the work and made a real impact. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was enforcing a system that didn’t have my best interest at heart. You see, my voice was seen as a threat rather than an asset, and my expertise was questioned or overlooked. I was tired and broken in a way that no amount of time off could repair.
That’s when I knew I no longer fit. I refused to keep “playing the game,” even if that meant dismantling the system I’d been hired into and building my own.

I started working with Deidra last year when I realized that, even though I had strong sales skills, I needed a stronger branding and social media strategy to attract more clients.
